Questions

Frequently asked

What is Friends of the Campbell Pool?

Friends of the Campbell Pool is an independent community initiative created to help Campbell residents imagine, shape, and support the future of public aquatics in our city.

Our goals are to:

  • Share accurate and understandable project updates
  • Encourage broad community participation
  • Collect stories, memories, needs, and ideas
  • Advocate for an inclusive and financially sustainable aquatic center
  • Help maintain community support throughout the lengthy planning and funding process

We believe Campbell should have a welcoming public aquatic facility for swim lessons, water safety, fitness, recreation, social connection, and community life.

Is this an official City of Campbell website?

No. Friends of the Campbell Pool is not operated by the City of Campbell.

Official project decisions, budgets, schedules, meeting notices, and public documents come from the City. When we share official information, we will identify the source and link back to the City's materials on the City of Campbell Aquatics page.

Questions about City programs, refunds, passes, staffing, or formal project decisions should be sent to poolproject@campbellca.gov.

What is the difference between the City project and the Friends project?

The City of Campbell is responsible for the official aquatic center project, including hiring designers, approving plans, applying for grants, identifying funding, obtaining permits, constructing the facility, and determining how it will operate.

Friends of the Campbell Pool supports the community side of the process. We encourage residents to participate, make project information easier to understand, share community-generated ideas, and advocate for the project to remain a priority.

How is my design used?

Every submitted design and priority ranking is aggregated into the results page, giving a clear picture of what the community wants. We share these community-generated ideas to support the City's official planning process.

When will the pool be built?

Timelines depend on funding and City approvals, and official schedules come from the City of Campbell. Join our newsletter to stay up to date, and check the City of Campbell Aquatics page for official milestones.
